This kitchen – in South Lanarkshire, Scotland – was made from bespoke birch plywood cabinets, and then faced with solid ash doors and drawer fronts. My clients decided to combine it with an oak floor and beech worktops. Lots of different types of timber for a relatively small room, but it seems to work!
The small island in the centre of the room houses an induction hob, and also one unique feature. A sliding shelf can be pulled out from either side, and extended to whatever depth required.? My clients specifically requested this lower shelf as when cooking they prefer to prepare food at that height. It also gives them extra worktop space if needed.
